Please Climb

Textile installation, 2015

The in-situ installation was meant as an invitation to be playful within the realm of historic and reli-gious places. A space in which one can mediate, peacefully reminisce, safely remember. The general atmosphere of the installation was one connected to childhood references. The long pieces of fabrics acting as ropes on could climb with, earthy tones often found on chil-dren’s toys and playgrounds. The direct invitation of the title plays as a suggestion for escapism and a metaphor for self-reflection.The imagined physical movement of the climb leading to a men-tal ascension, where to?
